The Application
 

The purpose of the application Newworldwater is to create awareness for the current situation concerning water resources. It sports a very basic look and feel in order to draw the attention to the subject matter rather than fancy eye-candy.

Main Menu

Click anywhere blank to toggle the main menu. Here you can toggle different data filters as well as switch back and forth the three different display modes. If you have selected countries you can deselect them all at once by clicking on the centered deselect button. If not currently in the main menu you can view the legend by moving your mouse to the bottom of the application or by pressing the "i" key on your keyboard.

Map Mode

You can zoom in and out by utilizing the mousewheel or the +/- keys on your keyboard. If zoomed in you can pan the map by using your cursor keys. Move your mouse over a country to view the numerical data or click on it to select it in order to compare it with other countries in the detail mode.

Detail Mode

If you have selected countries in the map mode you can enter the detail mode. You can view a single country or select several for comparison. Click on the centered deselect button to deselect all countries at once.

Ranking Mode

Ranking Mode

If you like rankings you might want to try the ranking mode. Here all countries are displayed and ranked according to the active data filter. You can switched the filter by which the data is sorted by clicking on the small sort-button next to the data filter toggle in the main menu. As in all other modes you can toggle as many data filters as you like though it is recommended to only select a few at once.
